Christopher Sabec Hanson Manager

Christopher Sabec met the Hanson family during the 1994 South by Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas. Sabec was taking meetings on behalf of Dave Matthews Band when he was unexpectedly asked by three blonde kids if they could perform for him a capella. Sabec immediately saw the kids’ potential and offered his services as an attorney. The family already had a lawyer, but they asked if he would sign on as manager instead. The rest is history — over the next few years Sabec fostered Hanson’s development, helped them sign to Mercury, and transformed them into a commercial viable brand with a professional marketing strategy.

The three brothers, Isaac, Taylor, and Zac, created the pop trio back in 1992 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Best known for their catchy pop tunes and highly energetic shows, Hanson found their commercial pop groove by the mid 1990s under Sabec’s managerial guidance.

After their 1996 mega-hit MMMBop, Hanson grew from a relatively unknown group to a wildly successful pop rock band. The group was nominated for three Grammy Awards in 1998 including Record of the Year and Best New Artist. They have released a total of 9 successful studio albums under Mercury, Island Def Jam Records, and eventually under their own label 3CG. Eight of those albums ranked on the top 40 albums list, and they’ve scored 6 top 40 singles positions during their lucrative career. Sabec followed Hanson all around the world, including visits to over 30 different countries over a 5 year time period.

Hanson finished their recent Anthem World Tour in August 2014 in support of their latest album, Anthem. They’ve sold over 16 million records worldwide to date and still actively make music and tour around the globe. When they’re not touring or creating new tunes, the brothers spend much of their time getting involved with philanthropic and charitable activities, including a comprehensive 2008 tour that aimed to fight poverty in Africa.
